Welcome from Mrs. Gray

Welcome to Signhills Infant Academy. I am delighted to welcome you to our school website as the Headteacher of Signhills Infant Academy. As a former pupil, I am passionate about leading the school to ensure the children are given an excellent start to their educational journey, just as I received many years ago.

I have worked in education for over twenty years and over this time I have developed a passion for teaching the youngest of learners. This has involved me delivering training to schools on what high quality education in the early years looks like. I strongly believe that getting it right in these early years is the key to future success. This means ensuring the highest standard of teaching and learning is achieved. I know the school already has a hugely committed team and wonderful children, which is a great place to start and makes the journey ahead very exciting.

I am a parent of a thirteen-year-old boy and my goal for my son has always been to ensure he is happy in life and that I can help him achieve his potential. This is the philosophy I bring to my role as Headteacher. My aim is to ensure that all the children who attend Signhills Infant Academy are happy and are given the greatest of opportunities to be the best they can be both socially and academically.

The needs of the children are always paramount in the life and decision making within a school. I strongly believe in providing the children with meaningful learning experiences which build enthusiasm for learning and help our children to grow and develop in a variety of ways. I think it is crucial to involve the children and their families as partners in their education and I am keen to continue to build the school community. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel it is important that you have a voice and that as a school we are approachable and allocate time to listen to your thoughts about the school.

You can be assured that as Headteacher, I will strive to create the best education for your child/children whilst they are members of our school family.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of our wonderful our school and of our fabulous children. There are two hundred and seventy pupils on roll and we have three classes in each year group. We work closely with our neighbours at Signhills Academy, although we are separate schools.

We are delighted to say that on June 1st 2023, Signhills Infant Academy officially became part of the St Lawrence Academies Trust.

We are looking forward to working together with the Trust to keep improving the education provision and opportunities for our children.  We really hope you will see the benefits of being part of the St Lawrence Academies Trust community and a family of schools.

You can find out more about our Trust at www.slatrust.co.uk

Children are admitted into school in the September preceding their fifth birthday. The school’s current admission arrangements are in line with the published criteria in the North East Lincolnshire ‘A Guide for Parents’.

We hope you find the information on our website useful, but if there is anything else you would like to know about the school, please contact us on (01472) 694993 and we will be pleased to answer your questions or give you further information.

We look forward to meeting you and your children, and welcoming them to our lovely school.
